Lech Zurs Winter Wonderland

A winter wonderland called Lech/Zürs

Welcome to the winter wonderland! World-famous hospitality, tradition and sophisticated tranquillity have been attracting winter sports enthusiasts from all over the world for at least a century to this Eldorado of winter sport. Ski Area Lech/Zürs lies between 1.450 and 2.450 metres above sea level and is one of the distinguished circle of 12 locations dubbed “Best of the Alps”. But it’s not only those with sporting ambitions who get their money’s worth in this heavenly winter landscape, because there is also something on hand for walkers, gourmets and culture lovers in the winter season. The Arlberg is not a mountain but rather a pass which connects the Austrian provinces of Tyrol and Vorarlberg. Winter sports enthusiasts require only a single lift pass for the entire region.

The Arlberg Card gives its holders access to a snowy paradise with 85 mountain railways and lifts, 276 km of ski-runs and 180 km of deep powder runs. Heated lift chairs add a luxurious touch to the cold wintery days. Free ski buses shuttle guests between the individual resorts. Sun terraces invites you to enjoy a spot of après-ski and indulge in a variety of other activities such as ice skating, curling, ice-carting, tobogganing, cross-country skiing, winter hiking and sleigh rides, all of which are guaranteed to make the winter holiday an experience for the whole family.

There is also some incredibly glamorous shopping possible in this area. Lech am Arlberg has a moderate array of 30 or so shops, with a smaller choice in nearby Zug and Zürs. The resort is a favourite with royalty. Diana, the Princess of Wales brought William and Harry here to learn to ski. And King Juan Carlos of Spain, Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands and the King of Jordan are also regulars.
