When to go:
Although most Europeans choose to vacation in the Maldives during Europe’s winter months, the scenic Maldive islands are a year-round destination. Any time of the year is basically ideal for visiting these picturesque islands. The best time to visit Maldives often depends on your plans. Surfing and diving, for example, are better during certain months. The Maldives has a tropical climate and experiences dry and wet seasons during the year. The dry season lasts from approximately mid-December to mid-April, while the wet season takes place generally between May to November. April is usually a transition period with hot temperatures and the clearest waters. The dry season features little rain and less humidity, offering travellers from colder climates a tantalising escape. With gentler seas and the best visibility, these months also make for perfect conditions when snorkelling or diving. Although diving is possible throughout the year, aim to reach dive spots on western sides of any atoll from May to November or between December and April on eastern sides. Storms and rain are more likely between May and November. Although still warm, the period is characterized with cloudier skies and much higher humidity. With rougher seas, the wet season is also the best time to visit for surfing enthusiasts. March to October is a great time for surfing in the Maldives.
Latitude spoils you for choice by offering a fascinating range of contemporary, Continental, Indian, Pan Asian and Western cuisine. The look is chic, the vibe informal. Splashes of colour, fashionable furnishings and creative food presentations set the tone for a fantastic meal. It’s a real treat! Mood lighting and diverse world music set the scene, while the menu features flavours from across the Indian Ocean, including Thai, Indonesian, Maldivian and Coastal Indian cuisine. All main course items are served a la carte from a menu that changes daily. As the best Asian restaurant in the Maldives, Latitude offers a private dining room along with a wine display, a perfect venue for private wine dinners with tailor-made menus specially designed by their Executive Chef.
Open – The Grill

With food inspired by the flavours of Peru, Mexico, Brazil and Argentina, it’s a real treat. Among the dishes you must try are rolled corn and flour tortillas, along with traditional breads from this region. And, to add to the contrast, there’s a poolside, wood-fired pizza oven where they dish out the best pizzas Maldives has, all day long.
Fresh dough rolled into thin crusts and topped with ingredients of your choice, then baked in a live wood-fire oven, it doesn’t get better than this! So, grab a slice or two. And watching the video by peterambertravel, it’s true!. Joking apart, don’t miss the chance to enjoy a real Maldivian experience beyond its glitzy resorts and pristine beaches precisely like it is showed on this video.
